It is also possible to use a stepper motor as your electricity generating component. A stepper motor will produce 4 phase electricity which must be rectified. The more steps per degree the motor is rated at the more current it will produce. Most common stepper motors found on junk piles are from old printers. They usually are rated at 5 Volts 1.8 steps per degree. They have low RPM ratings so they easily produce 5 Volts or more on directly mounted PVC blades. Small stepper motors will produce about 1 Watt of power. Good for charging a cellphone. Voltage doubling can be achieved during the rectification process of the stepper motor.
